Storyline / Plot
During her days of entrapment in the Quantum Realm, Janet van Dyne encounters an exiled swashbuckler named Kang. In the present day, after the Avengers' battle next to Thanos,[a] Scott Lang has become a well-to-do memoirist and has been bustling happily as soon as his girlfriend, wish van Dyne. Scott's now-teenage daughter Cassie has become a political activist in helping people displaced by the Blip, resulting in her having a strained relationship subsequent to her father.
While visiting Hope's parents, Hank Pym and Janet, Cassie reveals that she has been vigorous on a device that can avow right to use behind the Quantum Realm. upon learning of this, Janet panics and belligerently shuts off the device, but the message is received, resulting in a portal that opens and sucks the five of them into the Quantum Realm. Scott and Cassie are found by natives who are rebelling adjoining their ruler, even though Hope, Janet, and Pym dissect a sprawling city to acquire answers.
Hope, Janet, and Pym meet past Lord Krylar, a former ally of Janet's, who reveals that things have untouched before she left,[b] and that he is now keen for Kang, the Quantum Realm's supplementary ruler. The three are goaded to make off and steal Krylar's ship. The Langs, meanwhile, are told by revolutionary leader Jentorra that Janet's involvement considering Kang is indirectly answerable for his rise to power. The rebels soon come below assault by Kang's forces led by M.O.D.O.K., who is revealed to be Darren Cross, having survived his apparent death at the hands of Scott.[c]
Aboard Krylar's ship, Janet confesses to hope and Pym why she wanted nothing to reach in imitation of the Quantum Realm again; Kang claimed that he and Janet could both leave suddenly from the Quantum Realm if she helped him rebuild his multiversal gift core. After they managed to repair it, Janet axiom a vision of Kang conquering and destroying entire timelines. Kang revealed he was exiled by his variants out of fear, which drove Janet to point of view neighboring him. Outmatched, Janet used her Pym Particles to tote up the capability core higher than use. Kang, having regained his powers, eventually conquered the Quantum Realm afterward.
The Langs are taken to Kang, who demands that Scott helps get his aptitude core back up or else he will slay Cassie. Scott is then taken to the core's location and shrinks down. He is nearly drowned in a sea of variants of himself, but wish arrives and helps him get the knack core. However, Kang reneges upon the deal, capturing Janet and destroying her boat later than Hank upon it. After innate rescued by his ants, who were as well as pulled into the Quantum Realm, shortly evolved, and became hyper-intelligent, Pym helps Scott and wish as they create their pretension to Kang. Cassie rescues Jentorra and they commence an uprising against Kang and his army. During the fight, Cassie convinces fuming to switch sides and fight Kang, even if he sacrifices his life.
Janet fixes the skill core as she, Pym, Hope, and Cassie hop through a portal home, but Kang attacks Scott. past he can stress Scott into submission, wish returns, and she and Scott toss Kang and Pym Particles into the capability core, destroying them both. Cassie reopens the portal for Scott and wish to recompense home. As Scott happily resumes his life, he begins to rethink what he was told practically Kang's death creature the start of something unpleasant happening, but brushes it off.
