Storyline / Plot
In the 14th century, Wenceslas IV is the king of Bohemia and Roman emperor at the similar time. Wenceslas has acknowledged the throne after his daddy Charles IV, but his reign is not as successful, and the kingdom seems to fall apart under his feeble rule.
The country is actually ruled by Henry III of Rosenberg, the most powerful nobleman in the country. The film follows Jan ika, a knight, mercenary, and far along leader of the Hussite army who leads a mercenary group.
ika is tasked by lord Boresh to snatch Rosenberg's fiance Katherine which would force Rosenberg to save his word and help Wenceslas IV to be crowned the emperor of Holy Roman Empire.
This gets ika vigorous considering tall politics and brings him into accomplishment not and no-one else behind Rosenberg but also next Wenceslaus' brother King Sigismund who sends soldiers led by ika's mentor Torak to acquire Catherine back.
Torak and his men burn ika's home, kill his nephew and make off with his brother Jaroslav to stand-in him for Katherine. Torak sets in the works a trap but ika uses the help of local peasants and good tactics to extinguish Torak's men despite inborn outnumbered.
ika and his men manage to run off in the same way as Jaroslav and Katherine. They hide in a easy to get to cave but are ambushed by Torak and ika barely escapes losing his eye in a battle gone Torak. Katherine nurses him from his injury. Torak is searching for ika though terrorizing local peasants. His men eventually control to make off with Katherine who meanwhile had fallen in love as soon as ika.
Katherine is taken to Rosenberg's castle even though ika and his men locate mortally hard done by Boresh. Boresh reveals that Sigismund kidnapped King Wenceslas. As he dies he interpretation that the world can't be changed for the greater than before if kings can get such things. ika decides to save Katherine. He and his men acquire into the castle and ika faces Torak.
Torak gets the upper hand but Katherine throws herself off the castle wall to the river to keep ika. ika jumps after her even if pulling Torak following him. He kills Torak even if underwater and brings Katherine to the riverbank. She gives him her field after they kiss and she dies. ika brings her body to his men.
An epilogue states that Sigismund became king of Bohemia after his brother's death but the people revolted against him. Sigismund then orchestrated crusades to Bohemia even though ika led outnumbered peasants. The film ends during the Hussite Wars similar to ika leading a Hussite army in Wagon fort facing a large army. It is shown that he is still keeping Katherine's ring.
